3 Must Knows When Buying A Home

The home buying process can be challenging—to say the least. Between getting pre-approved, packing researched the various areas you like to live in, hiring a real estate agent, and everything else that goes into the process. It’s easy to see where things can get overlooked or missed. 

As you move forward in buying a home, here are 4 factors to keep in mind:

1. Image titleClosing costs. Most people know about closing costs, but what they don’t realize is how much are going to be. A good rule of thumb, allocate about 3% of the purchase price to estimate the closing costs needed.

2. Calculate the utilities. Monthly expenses can get overlooked, especially for first time home buyers, because you’re probably more focused on your mortgage, finding your dream home, and all the other aspects that fall under the home buying process. These costs can variety so when looking at buying a home ask about them. In some cases, the owner may disclose their monthly bills, so you can have a clearer idea of what these monthly costs may be.

3. Property taxes. One other thing that can easily be overlooked are property taxes. Although monthly mortgage interest can be deducted from annual tax returns. It’s still a good ideas and plan for this when moving into a home.
